April 8, 2026- Failure is no longer scary

If failure is not an option, then neither is success.

~Seth Godin

We can’t protect ourselves from failure without shielding ourselves from success. We can’t have both complete freedom and utter safety. Vulnerability requires some courage, but it opens the door to the kind of success that is simply impossible without risk.

We must be willing to fail. We have failed before. It didn’t kill us. Failure allows us to search for our limits. We can win every wrestling match against two-year-olds, but what are we really winning? Are we willing to define that as success?

Today’s failure could be an essential step toward tomorrow’s success. It may be that we are asking too much of ourselves, or it may be that we simply need time to grow into the version of ourselves who can succeed. There may be work to do to evolve into the kind of winner we would like to be. When we are willing to take that work incrementally, rather than letting failure be the end of our journey, we can build a path to success.

Fail. Fail again. Fail so many times that failure is no longer scary. Reflect on why that failure happened and get to work on the changes that will allow you to succeed. Toddlers fall so many times before they learn to run. Sometimes, they even have scars to prove it. Let’s have the undeterred fire of a toddler and go after our goals.
