Our opportunities are not all going to jump out and smack us in the face. More often than not, we have to get out and create our own luck. We can only do so by being fully present and open to the possibility that every moment in our lives gives us an opportunity to step into a better version of ourselves. This will not happen by chance, but through intention and action.

How much do you think we’ve missed while we were busy ruminating about the past? How many opportunities were squandered while we were busy worrying about the future? How many potential best friends did we walk right past while we were both staring at our phones? How many chances to heal and to grow did we miss because we were busy repeating old patterns?

All the opportunities we could ever need are out there in the universe, just waiting for us to seize them. That doesn’t mean we need to feel shame for not being the most successful person on the planet right now; privilege does exist, as does trauma. We just need to open our minds and our hearts to the idea that this world is not conspiring to make us fail. It is also not clearing an easy path to our success. It is on us to leave our own little corner of the forest and get out there and mess some things up, recover, learn, and grow.
