Worry drains the mind of its power and, sooner or later, it injures the soul.
~Robin Sharma
We can spend our time coming up with a million reasons why our dreams won’t come true. While it’s important to anticipate some problems and plan some solutions for them, we can’t get stuck in that space. We will come to worry more than we act. We’ll find ourselves paralyzed by it. Our fears will come to direct us more than our intentions.
What will worry really do for us? Many of the things we worry about are outside our control; they will happen whether we worry about them or not. Do we want struggles to impact us before we’ve even gotten to the point of struggle?
We don’t have to choose ignorance or gravity just because we refuse to worry. We can consider how we will leverage our strengths against our challenges. We can envision positive outcomes. We can trust our capacity to overcome obstacles. We can consider what the best version of us would do to be successful, then be prepared to do that when the moment arises.
Worry implies that we expect something other than success. If we believe we are up to our challenges, we don’t need to worry about them.
Let your mind and soul be free from worry. Be present in this moment and believe in your ability to handle the future.
