June 29, 2026- Plant seeds and nurture them

Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.

It took us our entire lives to get to this place. It wasn’t a single choice, a single act, a single day that created these current versions of us. It was every choice, every act, every day that made us into this. If we seek change, we are going to need to have enough patience to let that change take root.

Growing fruit requires incredible faith. We can do everything right and still fail. We can start with seeds from a healthy tree, plant them in a great spot in fertile soil, make sure there is plenty of sunlight and water, and nurture it to the best of our ability, and there still may be no fruit in the future. A heat wave, harsh winter, flood, drought, lightning strike, wind gust, or a million other events completely outside our control may squash our work. Should that happen, the work was still worth it. The work will train us to be good stewards of the next tree.

All we can do is plant seeds and nurture them. We can’t control everything. If we have faith in the process, and we keep at it, eventually, our work will bear fruit. With discipline, grace, reflection, resilience, and patience, we can watch our seeds grow. We can turn intention into action. We can grow into a better version of ourselves.
