November 17, 2025- A better version of ourselves

We can’t create a new future while we’re living in our past. It’s simply impossible.

~Joe Dispenza

We have choices to make, right now. Our past can serve as data. We can and should reflect on the outcomes of previous choices, and we should use that information to guide today’s choices. All too often, we spend so much time in that reflection stage, filling our minds with could haves and should haves, that we fail to make any choice now that will serve us.

We have certainly made choices in the past that we aren’t proud of. It will not serve us to deny that. If we fail to examine the misalignment of our actions and our greatest intentions, it will be easy to repeat those same mistakes in the future.

There is space, however, between acknowledging a mistake and dwelling on it forever. If we keep reliving the error, over and over, repeatedly admonishing ourselves for our mistake, we will make it such a present thought that we will also make ourselves more likely to repeat it.

We will make mistakes. We are human, and we are flawed. We can come up with explanations for those mistakes without making excuses for them. We can use that information to make better choices today, apologize to anyone whom we hurt along the way, then move on toward a better version of ourselves.
