October 2, 2025- One step closer

Where we are today is a product of yesterday‘s choices. Whether we spend all day patting ourselves on the back or punching ourselves in the face for those choices is not going to change them. What’s done is done, and all the time and energy we spend dwelling on it is not being spent on anything we control. Why not devote that all to today’s choices?


We spend so much time fretting over burnt toast that we overcook our eggs. We feel so guilty about not checking in with our friend yesterday that we avoid her today. We beat ourselves up over missing yesterday‘s workout and do more today than serves our body.


Reflection is powerful, but not at the expense of the present. Reflection should allow us to repeat what worked and discard what didn't. Reflection should not leave us stuck in the past.


You’ve made some really good choices in the past and you’ve made some really big mistakes. Through both the good and the bad choices, you’ve created the current you. Expect no lifetime achievement awards, but make no excuses. Can you simply take today to move one step closer to the best version of yourself? Can you make some progress today?
